Beulah Sutton Everley, a pillar of the Yoncalla community and beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, at the age of 89. Born to John C. and LaVeta Lucille (Neville) Sutton, on June 24, 1935, in Sutherlin, Oregon, Beulah's kindness and generosity touched the lives of many throughout her remarkable life.

Beulah's early years were spent in the scenic landscapes of Oregon. She graduated from Roseburg High School in 1953 and furthered her education at Umpqua Community College, where she completed two years of studies. On April 8, 1955, she married David Clingman in Roseburg, and although their paths later diverged, she found love again and married Willis Everley on Jun 14, 1968 in Carson City, Nevada.

Beulah's professional journey was as varied as it was impactful. With a mind for figures and details, she worked as a key punch operator for the Department of Defense, a role that held great responsibility during the time. Her expertise in bookkeeping led her to Dr. Holtz and Weaver and later to Carsten's furniture. Her love for books and the community eventually guided her to the Yoncalla Public Library, where she would retire, leaving a legacy of literacy and learning.

Her dedication to service extended far beyond her professional responsibilities. Beulah was an active and cherished member of the Yoncalla Church of Christ, where she managed the books, taught Sunday School, and led the Vacation Bible School. The Yoncalla Chamber of Commerce, Friends of the Library, and North Douglas Betterment all benefited from her involvement, and her efforts did not go unnoticed. Her community recognized her service with the Citizen of the Year award, and she proudly served as the grand marshal for the North Douglas parade.

Beulah's interests created a tapestry of involvement that enriched not only her life but also the lives of those around her. She found great joy in attending children's and grandchildren's sporting events, supporting them as a constant presence on the sidelines. Her nurturing spirit extended into her roles as a Cub Scout Den Mother, Girl Scout Leader, and 4-H leader. Alongside her husband Willis, she cultivated beauty through their shared passion for flower gardening, ensuring that their church was graced with fresh flowers every Sunday.

She brought joy to many through her creative talents, creating beautiful cakes for numerous occasions, including the weddings of her own children. Beulah's commitment to community growth was manifested in her instrumental role in fundraising to build the new Yoncalla library - a feat achieved without the use of tax dollars. A testament to her selflessness was the warmth and comfort she stitched into each quilt she lovingly made for her grandchildren.

Beulah served with distinction on the North Douglas Fair Board and headed the flower committee for many years, leaving a trail of blossoms wherever she went. Her heart for others was evident in her dedicated work as the local chair for the American Heart Association's fundraising efforts.

Her legacy lives on in her son Lyle and Sally Clingman, daughter Sheri and Rick Holtz, son Steven and Judy Everley, sister Jaqueline Parsons, brother Frank Sutton, 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Willis, sisters Annamae Roth, Maxine Blakeley, Donna Hopkins, sister Rita Pinard, and brother Duane Sutton.

A funeral Service will be held at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel May 17, 2025 at 1:00 PM. Interment will be at Roseburg Memorial Gardens.
