Provenance

Egobots is historically significant in relation to PFPs - it's a predecessor to CryptoPunks by Larva Labs. DHW started work on Egobots in 2003. An alpha release was "live" online late in 2004, the beta release was summer 2005, with general release in spring 2006.

Egobots.com used a third-party website called HeadsUp as a live test-bed for the earliest version of its PFP-generator. DHW's PFP collection WAGMIES is a 20th anniversary reboot/rebrand of Egobots using the original rendered 3D digital assets. Not released at the time of this inscription.
